Dãnia Davy Keynote address at the 2026 Beyond the Farm Bill summit at American University
At the end of April, the Race, Climate, and Agrarian Justice lab convened the “Beyond the Farm Bill Summit” to strategize agrarian politics for racial and climate justice. We convened with farmers, farmworkers, advocates, and scholars to discuss ways we can work through, beyond, and in spite of national policies to build the food and agricultural systems we deserve.
We are so grateful to have heard from Dãnia Davy, who delivered the keynote address: “With Liberation and Justice For All: The Courage We Need to Get Reconstruction Right.”
From revisiting Reconstruction’s effects on Black, Indigenous and other BIPOC land stewardship to calls to action for the future of agrarian justice, Dãnia left us with an inspiring call to action.
Please enjoy this video of scholar, attorney, and activist Dãnia Davy as she empowers and reminds us of the efforts necessary to achieve agricultural justice for Black, Indigenous, and essential farmers, farm workers, and land stewards.
